Exhibits
Delta is a community whose prehistory, history and current situation depend greatly on natural resources such as farming, fishing and village life. People of many cultures have shared in these experiences and this is reflected in the exhibits, objects, photographs and labels that are displayed throughout the 1912 Tudor-style heritage building that is home to the Delta Museum and Archives.
Formerly the Municipal Hall for the Corporation of Delta, the Delta Museum and Archives has transformed the space into three floors of permanent exhibits consisting of fine artifacts and authentic detail.
The main floor invites visitors into the living quarters of a turn-of-the-century farming community including a formal parlour, bedroom, nursery, study, scullery and typical pioneer kitchen.
Take in the sights and sounds of an early street scene on the lower floor. Features include a general store, blacksmith forge, bakery, drug store, doctor's office, train station, one-room school and the famous jail.
On the main floor, two temporary galleries offer changing exhibits that cover a wide range of Delta's culture and history while presenting a local perspective on events of national and international importance, concern and appeal.
